- "User," "You," or "Your" refers to any individual accessing or using the Service.
- "Account" refers to the user account created on our web dashboard to access the Service.
- "Passes/Subscriptions" refers to the time-based access passes (e.g., 1-Day Pass, Monthly Pro) required to use the AI features.
- "Content" refers to any visual data (screenshots), audio data, or text submitted to or processed by the Service.
- "We," "Us," or "Our" refers to HintLens and its operating entity.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading the application, creating an account, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and HintLens.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- You are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws.
- Your use of the Service will not violate any laws or regulations applicable to you.
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Account Creation
To access the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
4.2 Account Security
- You agree to keep your password secure and not share your credentials or license keys with third parties.
- You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
- You agree not to create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limitations or abuse free trials.
4.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or misuse of the Service infrastructure.
5. Service Description
HintLens provides an AI-powered native Windows overlay designed for:
- Real-time coding assistance and syntax debugging.
- Technical interview preparation and practice.
- System design and algorithm analysis.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without liability to you.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
6.1 Manual Renewals
Our Service operates on a manual subscription model. We do not automatically charge your payment method at the end of your billing cycle. You are in complete control of when you purchase or renew a pass.
6.2 Payment Terms & No Refunds
- Purchases are processed through secure third-party providers (e.g., Razorpay).
- Due to the immediate computing costs associated with enterprise AI APIs (Groq, OpenAI), all payments are strictly non-refundable. We highly encourage utilizing our Free tier to evaluate the software before purchasing.
6.3 Fair Use Policy
Paid plans are subject to reasonable fair-use limits to prevent abuse of the AI infrastructure. Excessive automated requests may result in temporary API rate-limiting.
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
- Breach the terms of service, honor codes, or acceptable use policies of third-party platforms, employers, or educational institutions. HintLens operates as an OS-level overlay; the user bears sole responsibility for the context in which they deploy the software.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code of the native Windows application or its rendering engine.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to interact with the overlay or our APIs.
- Use the Service for competitive analysis or to develop competing products.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
8.1 Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its proprietary D3D11 overlay technology, typing simulator algorithms, brand assets, and software code, is exclusively owned by HintLens. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service as intended.
8.2 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the visual and text content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a temporary, restricted license to process it solely for generating your AI responses. We do not use your Content to train our base AI models.
8.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback or feature suggestions, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free license to incorporate them into the Service.
9. Data Privacy and Security
Our collection and protection of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices. While we use industry-standard encryption, no transmission is 100% secure. You provide information at your own risk.
10. Service Availability and Modifications
We strive for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance or third-party API outages. We are not liable for any modifications, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on third-party AI providers (e.g., Groq, Llama, Gemini). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third parties, and shall not be liable for any damage caused by your use of third-party platforms alongside our software.
12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
12.1 No Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNDETECTABLE BY ALL THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.
12.2 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
While we use advanced models, AI-generated content (including code solutions) may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any code or answers before submitting them in high-stakes environments.
12.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HINTLENS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, ACADEMIC STANDING, OR REVENUE) ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HintLens and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your breach of any third-party honor codes or agreements.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiations. You agree to bring any dispute in an individual capacity and waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit.
15. Export Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export laws and will not transfer the Service to prohibited countries or entities.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and HintLens regarding the Service.
18. Assignment & Waiver
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. Our failure to enforce any right shall not constitute a waiver of that right.
